Introduction
Section titled “Introduction”Microsoft Teams is the hub for team collaboration in Microsoft Office 365 that integrates people, content, conversations, and tools your team needs. Via the CyberGate application that runs in Microsoft Azure, you can connect an AXIS Network Video Doorstation to your Microsoft Teams environment.
Microsoft Teams users can:
- Answer incoming calls with 2-way audio and live video
- Place outgoing calls to the intercom
- Use the Teams desktop client, Teams desk phone, or Teams smartphone app
- Open the door for visitors

Supported AXIS Devices
Section titled “Supported AXIS Devices”
This document uses the AXIS A8207-VE MK II Network Video Doorstation as the reference device. The following AXIS Video Doorstations running AXIS OS 11 are also supported:

CyberGate Teams App Features
Section titled “CyberGate Teams App Features”The CyberGate app for Microsoft Teams provides:
- 🚪 Open door — Click a button to open the intercom door during a call
- 📊 Device status — View device online/offline status and initiate calls with one click
- 👥 Availability — Set your status in CyberGate Multi-ring groups
Recommendation: Installation of the CyberGate app for Microsoft Teams is highly recommended.
Configuration Steps
Section titled “Configuration Steps”Step 1: Connect to the AXIS
Section titled “Step 1: Connect to the AXIS”- Connect the AXIS to the network and power it on
- Open a web browser and navigate to the device’s IP address
- Login as ‘root’ with the configured password

- When logged in, the live view opens

Step 2: Start SIP Configuration
Section titled “Step 2: Start SIP Configuration”- Navigate to Communication → SIP
- Select ‘Start new configuration’ and click ‘Start’

- Enable SIP and allow incoming SIP calls
- Click ‘Next’

Step 3: Select Account Type
Section titled “Step 3: Select Account Type”- Select ‘Registered’ as the account type
- Click ‘Next’

Step 4: Create Registered Account
Section titled “Step 4: Create Registered Account”Configure the following settings:

| Domain | Use the domain name of your organisation |

Click ‘Next’ when done.

Step 5: Configure DTMF Settings
Section titled “Step 5: Configure DTMF Settings”Configure the DTMF settings for door opening:

Click ‘Next’ when done.

Step 6: Create Contact
Section titled “Step 6: Create Contact”Create the contact to call when the button is pressed:

SIP Address Format
Section titled “SIP Address Format”Use the format: name.name@cybergate.cybertwice.com

For Teams user Koos Ridder with emailkoos.ridder@mycompany.com
Enter:koos.ridder@cybergate.cybertwice.com
Click ‘Next’ when done.

Step 7: Test Your Setup
Section titled “Step 7: Test Your Setup”- Test your setup using the yellow phone symbol
- Verify that it rings the Teams user and has audio and video
- If successful, click ‘Next’

- Setup is complete!

Secure Connection to CyberGate
Section titled “Secure Connection to CyberGate”By default, the AXIS uses TCP to connect to CyberGate. For secure communication, configure SIP TLS as follows:
Enable TLS and SRTP
Section titled “Enable TLS and SRTP”- Navigate to Communication → SIP and close the setup assistant
- Navigate to ‘Accounts’ and click the three vertical dots at the end of your SIP account

- Scroll down and modify the following settings:

- Click ‘Save’ to confirm

These settings ensure that all SIP traffic and audio/video are encrypted.
Testing the Configuration
Section titled “Testing the Configuration”Configuration is now complete!
Making a Test Call
Section titled “Making a Test Call”-
Press the button on the AXIS to call the Teams recipient

If configured correctly, the Teams client will notify you of an incoming call

Answer the call by clicking the answer button

The call will be established and video will display within approximately 3 seconds

Opening the Door from Teams
Section titled “Opening the Door from Teams”- During an active call, click ‘Dial pad’ on top of the call screen
- Use the DTMF code (as configured earlier) to open the door

Installation
Section titled “Installation”How to Install (Admin Portal Method)
Section titled “How to Install (Admin Portal Method)”This installation method makes the CyberGate app available for every user in the organisation. You can modify this by selecting different user groups and/or setup policies to match your organisation’s policies.
Step 1: Access Teams Admin Portal
Section titled “Step 1: Access Teams Admin Portal”- Log in to the Microsoft Teams Admin Portal: https://admin.teams.microsoft.com

- Navigate to Teams apps → Manage apps

Step 2: Find and Enable CyberGate
Section titled “Step 2: Find and Enable CyberGate”- Search for ‘CyberGate’ using the search box

- Select the found ‘CyberGate’ app
- Click ‘Edit availability’
- Set availability to ‘Everyone’
- Click ‘Apply’

Step 3: Configure Setup Policies
Section titled “Step 3: Configure Setup Policies”- Navigate to Teams apps → Setup policies

- Select the policy ‘Global (Org-wide default)’

Step 4: Add CyberGate to Installed Apps
Section titled “Step 4: Add CyberGate to Installed Apps”- At ‘Installed apps’, click ‘Add apps’

- Search for ‘CyberGate’ in the search box
- Select it and click ‘Add’

- CyberGate will now show as installed

Step 5: Pin the App
Section titled “Step 5: Pin the App”- At ‘Pinned apps’, click ‘Add apps’

- Search for ‘CyberGate’ and select it
- Click ‘Add’

- CyberGate will show as pinned in the App bar and in ‘Calling extensions’

Note: The policy change will take up to 24 hours. After that, the CyberGate app will be available for all Teams users in the organisation.
Feature 1: Availability
Section titled “Feature 1: Availability”How It Works
Section titled “How It Works”The CyberGate app uses the same credentials as Microsoft Teams and automatically retrieves information about Multi-ring groups you belong to.

Example Scenario
Section titled “Example Scenario”In this example, the user koos.ridder@cybertwice.com is part of two Multi-ring groups:

Availability Status

Note: Availability status changes take effect immediately.
Tip: To configure the supervisor role for a Multi-ring group, use the CyberGate Management Portal.
Feature 2: Devices
Section titled “Feature 2: Devices”How It Works
Section titled “How It Works”The Devices menu shows an overview of all configured devices in your Tenant, sorted by location. You can filter results to find specific devices.

Device Tile Information
Section titled “Device Tile Information”Each device tile displays:

Connect Button
Section titled “Connect Button”If a device is configured to receive calls from Microsoft Teams, a Connect button will appear. Clicking this button initiates a call to the device.
Note: The devices shown to a user can be limited using the Device access settings in the CyberGate Management Portal.
Feature 3: Door-Open Button
Section titled “Feature 3: Door-Open Button”Introduction
Section titled “Introduction”During a call between the intercom and a Teams user, you can easily open the door by clicking a button on the sidebar.
How to Activate
Section titled “How to Activate”Step 1: Configure Open Door Code
Section titled “Step 1: Configure Open Door Code”- Log in to the CyberGate Management Portal
- Navigate to Basic → Device

- Click the blue edit button to open device details
- Fill in the ‘Open door code’
Important: The ‘Open door code’ must match the configured open door code in the intercom device!

- Click the blue ‘Update’ button
Step 2: Use the Door-Open Button During a Call
Section titled “Step 2: Use the Door-Open Button During a Call”- During an incoming call from the intercom, click the CyberGate logo in the top bar
- A sidepanel will open revealing the Open door button

- Click the button to open the door
- End the call when finished
Tip: The Open door button is available automatically during intercom calls.
